One of the famous rich and creamy French sauces, made with brandy and sour cream, is the perfect match for tender and juicy pork chops!
Ingredients (for 2)
- 2 large pork chops
- 4 tbsp brandy
- 4 tbsp sour cream
- 2 shallots
- 2 tbsp wheat flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt & pepper (as needed)
Directions
- Trim pork chops and remove bones if any
- Season meat with salt and black pepper
- Put wheat flour on a large plate and dredge each pork chop in the flour, shaking off any excess
- Take a frying pan or skillet and heat olive oil on medium high heat
- When oil is hot, add the chops and cook for about 3 minutes per side
- Remove from pan and reserve on a plate, covered
- Slice shallots, add them to the pan and sauté for 2 minutes over medium heat
- Add brandy, stir well and scrape any browned meat sticking on the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon
- When brandy is reduced by half, add sour cream and stir to combine
- Pour the sauce over the pork chops and serve hot!
