The Southern fried chicken has become a part of America’s culinary heritage. More than a traditional dish, a real US legend.
Ingredients (for 2)
- 2 chicken thighs
- 4 chicken wings
- 1/3 cup lard
- 1tsp Red Tabasco Sauce
- 2 tbsp wheat flour
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- salt & black pepper
Directions
- Wash and clean the chicken pieces and dry them with the help of paper towels
- Heat the fat (you can use vegetable oil rather than lard) to 190 C° degrees (375 F°) in a heavy skillet
- Mix the remaining ingredients (excluding Tabasco) in a brown paper bag
- Place the chicken pieces in the bag a few at a time and shake until they are well coated
- Place the chicken pieces in the hot fat and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure that they are golden brown and crisp on all sides
- Remove the chicken from the fat and drain on paper towels
- Serve hot with the Tabasco sauce
