Boost your grilled rump steak with a special aromatic butter made with oregano and thyme. Ancient Greeks would be proud of you!

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 2 rump steaks (about 14 oz or 400 gr)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • salt and black pepper

Directions

  • First prepare the aromatic butter: finely chop the fresh oregano and fresh thyme leaves and, with a wooden spoon, mix in the butter adding salt and minced garlic
  • Spoon the mixture onto a sheet of grease−proof paper in a log shape, fold one side of the paper over roll, then with your hands give it a smooth log shape
  • Refrigerate for 20 minutes
  • Brush each steak with oil, season with salt and pepper to taste and pan fry or grill until cooked as desired
  • Serve the meat with a slice of the aromatic butter on top so that it will start to melt!

Best Served With

Baked or jacket potatoes and green beans
