Provence-Style Tomatoes

An easy oven-based recipe from the Provence region, really brings out the taste of your red tomatoes…

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 2 red tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt & black pepper


  • Preheat the oven to 375 °F (190° C)
  • Cut the red tomatoes in half and season with salt and black pepper
  • Sprinkle some olive oil over each tomato half
  • Add minced garlic, freshly chopped basil and breadcrumbs over each half
  • Place the halved tomatoes on a baking sheet
  • Sprinkle the remaining oil over the breadcrumbs and bake for 20 to 25 minutes

Tips from the Chef

  • Dose the amount of breadcrumbs according to the size of your tomatoes
  • We suggest to use small, ripe, succulent red tomatoes
