Prawns Choo Chee

Super easy and quick Thai recipe, ready with just a few ingredients. Chili peppers are cooked and therefore give a milder taste. If you like, you can spice it up further just before serving.

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 1 ½ cup prawns (about 10 oz or 270 gr)
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1/2 chili pepper
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro
  • 1 tbsp basil
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil


  • Peel and devein the prawns and set them aside
  • Chop the onions, garlic cloves and chili peppers
  • Put them in a wok or large skillet with olive oil and stir fry until golden brown
  • Add the prawns and stir fry for a couple of minutes at high heat
  • Stir in the coconut milk, fish sauce and soy sauce, and simmer for another 5 minutes
  • Once ready, add a touch of sesame oil and sprinkle with fresh basil and coriander leaves
