Mouth-watering Indian starter, ready in no time, and an excellent finger food for your parties… Can easily become a main dish by doubling the stated quantities.
Ingredients (for 2)
- 1 cup shrimps / prawns (about 5 oz.)
- 1/2 cup wheat flour
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp coriander / cilantro
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- oil for frying
- salt
Directions
- Peel and devein the prawns, and put them aside
- Combine flour, garam masala powder, lemon juice, coriander (chopped) and a pinch of salt in a bowl, add some water and mix well to get a thick batter
- Heat oil in a large skillet
- Dip the prawns in the batter, drop them gently in the frying oil and cook until golden brown (around 3-4 minutes)
- Remove the prawns from the pan with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to absorb any excess oil
