Paneer Skewers

Try this easy appetizer recipe with paneer, a type of cottage cheese popular in South Asian countries, great alternative to tofu and perfect for preparing vegetarian dishes…

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 1 cup paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander / cilantro
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 tbsp mint
  • chili peppers, as desired
  • a pinch of salt

Directions

  • Soak the skewers in cold water for about 15 minutes
  • In the meantime, cut the cottage cheese into bite size pieces and put them in a bowl
  • Put the rest of the ingredients in a food processor or blender: milk, lemon juice, garam masala, fresh coriander and mint leaves, garlic cloves, chili peppers and a pinch of salt
  • Pulse until you get a smooth mixture
  • Pour the sauce over the cheese, stir, cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the fridge for one hour
  • Once ready, thread the pieces over the skewers and grill them 2 minutes per side
