Pancakes with Lemon and Sugar

Turn plain simple pancakes into a sweet dessert with the addition of lemon juice and sugar… you can also top it with your favorite choice of fruit.

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • a pinch of salt


  • Take a small sauce pan and melt butter over low heat
  • In a different bowl mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar
  • Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add beaten egg and lemon juice
  • Pour melted butter and milk, and stir well to combine
  • Heat a small nonstick pan over medium heat
  • When hot, pour part of the pancake mixture into the pan and spread evenly
  • When the upper side of the pancake is bubbling, turn over and cook 1 minute more
  • Reserve to a platter, sprinkle with abundant powdered sugar and serve!

Tips from the Chef

  • If you are in a rush, just put all ingredients for the pancake mixture into a blender and pulse until smooth
  • Pour enough mixture into the pan to have a nice soft thickness
