The original North American pancakes! In this version with crispy bacon on top…
Ingredients (for 2)
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 4 bacon slices
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- a pinch of salt
Directions
- Take a small sauce pan and melt butter over low heat
- In a different bowl mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar
- Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add beaten eggs
- Pour melted butter and milk and stir well to combine
- Heat a small nonstick pan over medium heat
- Fry bacon slices until crispy on both sides (you can add some vegetable oil if needed) and reserve aside
- Clean excess fat from the pan and pour part of the pancake mixture; spread evenly
- When the upper side of the pancake is bubbling, turn over with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more
- Serve hot with fried bacon on top!
Tips from the Chef
- If you want it even faster and easier, just put all ingredients into a blender and mix together
- Pour enough mixture into the pan to have the right thickness
