Pancakes with Bacon

The original North American pancakes! In this version with crispy bacon on top…

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 4 bacon slices
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • a pinch of salt



  • Take a small sauce pan and melt butter over low heat
  • In a different bowl mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar
  • Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add beaten eggs
  • Pour melted butter and milk and stir well to combine
  • Heat a small nonstick pan over medium heat
  • Fry bacon slices until crispy on both sides (you can add some vegetable oil if needed) and reserve aside
  • Clean excess fat from the pan and pour part of the pancake mixture; spread evenly
  • When the upper side of the pancake is bubbling, turn over with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more
  • Serve hot with fried bacon on top!


Tips from the Chef

  • If you want it even faster and easier, just put all ingredients into a blender and mix together
  • Pour enough mixture into the pan to have the right thickness
