Easy side dish you can customize with so many different ingredients… have you tried adding cheese or bacon cubes? Awesome!
Ingredients (for 2)
- 4 potatoes
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- a touch of nutmeg
- rock salt
- black pepper, if desired
Directions
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft (cooking time depends on potato size, but you can expect about 30 minutes for medium sized potatoes)
- In the meantime, melt the butter in a frying pan, add the milk and just a touch of nutmeg
- Stir thoroughly and cook at low heat for a couple of minutes
- Drain and peel the potatoes
- Mash them in a large bowl using a fork
- Add the milk and butter a little at a time, to get to the desired consistency
- If you like, add a pinch of black pepper
