Mashed Potatoes

Easy side dish you can customize with so many different ingredients… have you tried adding cheese or bacon cubes? Awesome!

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 4 potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • a touch of nutmeg
  • rock salt
  • black pepper, if desired

Directions

  • Boil the potatoes in salted water until soft (cooking time depends on potato size, but you can expect about 30 minutes for medium sized potatoes)
  • In the meantime, melt the butter in a frying pan, add the milk and just a touch of nutmeg
  • Stir thoroughly and cook at low heat for a couple of minutes
  • Drain and peel the potatoes
  • Mash them in a large bowl using a fork
  • Add the milk and butter a little at a time, to get to the desired consistency
  • If you like, add a pinch of black pepper

Any meat-based main course, especially stews…. mashed potatoes love gravy!
