If you like a strong garlic taste and you are looking for a healthy recipe that is good for your heart (mackerel can be beneficial for high blood pressure), do not hesitate to try this out!
Ingredients (for 2)
- 4 fillets mackerel
- 4 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt & black pepper
Directions
- Take a small sauce pan and bring some water to boil
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (360° F)
- Peel and then blanch the garlic cloves in boiling water for 3 minutes
- In the meantime, grease the bottom of a baking pan with some of the oil (you can use parchment paper instead)
- Crush the garlic cloves on the bottom of the baking pan
- Sprinkle a little salt and some pepper inside the mackerel cavities or on top of the fillet
- Top the garlic bed with mackerels and drizzle the remaining oil and lemon juice over the fish
- Bake for 20-25 minutes and serve hot!
