Lemon Chicken

Quick and easy Chinese recipe, can be customized adding sesame seeds before serving…

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 1 chicken breast (about 13 oz or 360 gr)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tbsp wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/4 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 cups oil for frying
  • salt


  • Prepare the batter by mixing the wheat flour with the eggs and some water (add it gradually) until smooth
  • Cut the chicken breast into pieces and coat them with the batter
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan, a wok would be perfect, and deep fry the chicken until golden brown (approximately 5-6 minutes)
  • Put aside the chicken on kitchen paper to absorb any excess oil and keep it warm
  • Combine the chicken stock with corn flour, sugar and a pinch of salt, and cook in a large saucepan until thick
  • Add the chicken and the lemon juice, and give a final stir
