A popular main course recipe for Halloween and very entertaining to prepare with your kids… Not difficult at all, can suit different vegetables and filling combinations!
Ingredients (for 2)
- 2 bell peppers
- 1 cup ground beef
- 1/2 egg
- 1/2 can tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 onion
- 1/2 garlic clove
- 1 tsp red Tabasco sauce
- salt & black pepper
Directions
- Lightly beat the egg in a large bowl and stir in: onions (minced), garlic (crushed), tomato sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and a few drops of Tabasco
- Add the ground beef and work the mixture with a spoon until you have a smooth filling
- Finally add the bread crumbs, salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly
- Cover with a plastic wrap and set aside
- Preheat your oven to 350 °F (180 °C)
- With a sharp knife and keeping a 45° angle, cut off the top of the peppers and scoop out any seeds and cores
- Gently cut the eyes, noses and smiles into the peppers and lay them on a baking dish, lined with parchment paper
- Stuff the peppers with the filling, put the tops back on and bake for 45-50 minutes
