The banana sundae is otherwise known as a banana split and is an ice cream based dessert. Ice cream is usually served in the middle of bananas with desired toppings such as chocolate syrup and nuts. This grilled sundae is inspired by the original banana sundae and is as good and perhaps even better!
Ingredients (for 2)
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
- 1/4 cup pecans
- 1/4 cup cherries
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1/2 tbsp powdered sugar
Directions
- Keep peel on bananas
- Slice bananas in half horizontally
- Coat sliced sides of banana with honey and put aside for 5 minutes
- Put sliced side of bananas down on the grill and grill for 2 minutes or until imprinted by grill
- Turn over and grill until peel can be removed easily
- Remove peel and put 2 of the slices into a bowl along with 2 scoops of ice cream
- Combine whipping cream with powdered sugar and put on top of ice cream
- Top with pecans and chocolate syrup
- You can also add whipped cream and cherries or other toppings
- Serve right away and enjoy!
