Green Beans with Sesame Sauce

Boiled or steamed green beans with a quick and delicious soy and sesame seeds sauce. Try experimenting with different vegetables as well…

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 2 cups green beans
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp white sugar

Directions

  • Wash the green beans and cut off the edges
  • Cook them in boiling hot water for 7-8 minutes, until soft but still crisp
  • Toast the sesame seeds in a nonstick pan at high heat for about 2-3 minutes, stirring from time to time
  • Grind half of sesame seeds and mix them together with soy sauce and sugar
  • Put the green beans in your serving plate, pour over the sesame sauce and sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds on top

Tips from the Chef

  • You can grind sesame seeds with a mortar and pestle or with an electric spice grinder
  • If available, you can also find sesame already ground at your grocery store
