Chinese Beef Satay

Satay is a typical dish of Southeast Asia, but also popular in China. It consists of a long marinating process and a quick and tasty broiling… in this version with beef!

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 2 beef chuck steaks (about 300 gr. or 11 oz.)
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  • Slice or chop the beef and add it to a bowl
  • Pour all remaining ingredients over the meat and toss to coat well
  • Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (ideally overnight)
  • When ready to be served, thread each strip of meat lengthwise on (bamboo) skewers
  • Preheat oven or heat a large grill pan
  • Broil or grill the skewers until meat is browned on both sides and serve immediately!
