The worldwide famous French pâté, made with chicken liver. Perfect as starter, spread on toasted bread or as side for a rich meat meal. Guaranteed to stun your guests!
Ingredients (for 2)
- 1 cup chicken liver (about 180 gr or 6 oz)
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 onion
- 1 tbsp brandy
- salt & black pepper
Directions
- Take a small sauce pan and add chicken livers and stock
- Bring to a boil over medium heat
- Reduce heat and simmer for 6-8 minutes
- Remove chicken livers with a slotted spoon to an electric blender and blend until smooth, reserving cooking liquid
- Thinly grate onions and sauté in a skillet with butter for 4 minutes, or until translucent
- Add onions, ½ of the liquid from the saucepan, brandy and eggs to the blender
- Season with salt and black pepper and mix well until smooth
- Spread evenly on toasted bread and serve
