Caprese Salad

Originally from the Capri island, this salad has some of the best Italian ingredients: mozzarella cheese, sweet and ripe cherry tomatoes, big green olives, extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar…

Ingredients (for 2)

  • romaine lettuce (about 120 gr or 4 oz)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ripe cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup green olives
  • 1/2 shallot
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt & pepper


  • Wash and cut lettuce discarding any broken leaves
  • Slice it to your favorite size and add it to a salad bowl
  • Chop the mozzarella cheese in bite-sized pieces and add them to the bowl
  • Wash and cut the cherry tomatoes in quarters and add them too
  • Finely slice the shallot into the salad bowl
  • Pit and half the green olives (the bigger olives the better) and them too
  • Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sprinkle with salt, pepper and oregano and toss well before serving!
