Pasta comes in many shapes and is easy to prepare in many ways. Spaghetti is often served with meatballs; this version embodies the same ingredients in the form of a casserole. This is a great dish for the family, potlucks or gatherings…
Ingredients (for 2)
- spaghetti (about 180 gr or 6 oz.)
- 1 cup ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 onion
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt
Directions
- Set oven to 350˚F (180 °C) and grease a baking dish (9 x 13 inch)
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil
- Cook spaghetti in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite; drain and put aside until needed
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir beef and onion until meat is browned and onions are soft and translucent, about 7 minutes
- Stir in tomato sauce and seasoned salt
- Whisk eggs, Parmesan cheese, and butter in a large bowl
- Mix in spaghetti to egg mixture and toss to coat
- Place half the spaghetti mixture into baking dish
- Top with half the cottage cheese, mozzarella, and meat sauce
- Repeat layers and cover with aluminum foil
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes
- Remove foil and continue to bake until the cheese is melted and lightly browned, 20 to 25 minutes longer
