Baked Haddock

Baked fish (“Psari Plaki” in Greek) is very common and the perfect recipe for haddock as well as cod or bluefish… very simple to prepare!

Ingredients (for 2)

  • 2 fillets fresh haddock (about 400 gr. or 14 oz.)
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • black pepper


  • Preheat oven to 350 °F (180 °C)
  • Drizzle with olive oil a baking pan and place the fish on it
  • Sprinkle with salt, lemon juice, fresh basil and black pepper
  • Cut the onion in thin slices and lay it on the top of the fish fillet
  • Open the can of tomatoes and pour over the fish
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until fish is done, basting from time to time with the juices
