The original American pancakes: warm and fluffy, delicious and regenerating! In this version with plain maple syrup and nothing else…
Ingredients (for 2)
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp white sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- a pinch of salt
- maple syrup (as desired)
Directions
- Take a small sauce pan and melt butter over low heat
- In a different bowl mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar
- Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add the beaten egg
- Pour the melted butter and milk, and stir well to combine until the mixture is perfectly blended
- Heat a small nonstick pan over small-medium heat
- When hot, pour part of the pancake mixture into the pan and spread evenly
- When the upper side of the pancake is bubbling, turn over with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more; repeat for each pancake
- Serve hot and pour maple syrup on top!

- If you want it even faster and easier, just put all ingredients into a blender and mix together
- Pour enough mixture into the pan to have the right thickness
